Because if you don't, I'm gonna do it....
I'm gonna put Barry Manilow on my iPod nano.
Not just "Copacabana" either.
Maybe even "Mandy." Or "I Write the Songs."
And the one that goes:
"When will our eyes meet/
...when will this strong yearning end..
When will I see you again..."
Must...resist...Manilow....

NOW
What on earth is prompting you to consider such a thing?

Manilow is back, hadn't you heard?
They played him on the radio. More than once!I guess because he has a new album out or something.
Also, my mom used to listen to his stuff when I was a kid, so I know all the songs. (Don't yell at my mom. She also had Johnny Cash & Loretta Lynn & Patsy Cline & Buddy Holly & the Righteous Brothers. Okay, she also had Cher but still....)

Re: Manilow is back, hadn't you heard?
Oh, I heard. First number one album of his career on the Billboard Album Charts, which, admittedly, is awesome.However-- I heard his version of "Unchained Melody." I stopped counting key changes and modulations after about six. :-)

And I'd be on topic and talk about Barry too, but I just can't. Literally. I wouldn't have even known Copacabana was his, except Corrina mentioned it.

You're LUCKY to be so oblivious of Barry... I grew up during his heyday. *le*sigh*

I couldn't have been much behind the Barry-craze. I guess there's benefits to being out of the loop. About all I was hearing was classical music at the time.

...when will this strong yearning end..
When will I see you again.
That's 'Weekend In New England.' ;)
Manilow rules.

And I'm already married.

She had an iPod
During winter and some snow
She put on Barry Manilow
Now its a scrap heap
She smashed her iPod
She tossed high into the air
Smashed it down with saviour faire
"Destroy it now I must"
She said with grave disgust
One minute of no restraint
Now she's filled with blood-lust!
She really hated
"Copa Cabana"
But her spine was yellow as a bananna
She loaded up "Copa Cabaaana"
She took a hammer and laid down a slammer
on the Ipod....
...(don't put it on)...
And if you do it, I'll sing it and make you listen to the MP3! /threat

You have to identify yourself. That was too funny. The dog gave me the evil eye when I went into a laughing fit. Either that, or she wanted food again. One or the other.
And now I have "Copacabana" stuck forever in my head.
"She drinks herself half-blind/
She lost her youth and she lost her Tony/
Now she's lost her mind!"
Of course, people say I lost my mind a long time ago...

C'moi!
Me.Of course, I was tempted to say "Its me! ME!" while still anony-moose.
Just to be helpful.
I'm like that.

If it's got a beat, and you can dance to it ...
But zomg, the off-pitchness that man can achieve.

Her name was Leia
She was a princess
With a danish on each ear
and Darth Vader drawing near...
